We at Sustainable Acoustics are pleased to announce that we have won the Soundscape Award at the Noise Abatement Society John Connell Awards 2024! We are overjoyed to have received this recognition for our ongoing project with Thames Valley Police which you can read more about in our previous article titled 'Sustainable Acoustics shortlisted for John Connell ‘Noise Oscars’ Awards' and in the Noise Abatement Society's 2024 John Connell Soundscape Award Press Release below:
We would like to thank the Noise Abatement Society for hosting this fantastic event and Anderson Acoustics for sponsoring the Soundscape Award that we received. We would also like to give credit to the fantastic competition that we were up against and congratulate the other well-earned award winners of the other John Connell awards. Last (but certainly not least!) we would like to thank our fantastic team here at Sustainable Acoustics, without which this project wouldn't have been able to happen.
Niki Ward, one of the leaders of the Thames Valley Police Behavioural Science Unit commented:
Pete Rogers is MD of Sustainable Acoustics and has been instrumental in the current success of our Pilot project. Although the next phases of the project have been taking its time, I still strongly feel it is worth pushing forward with! The future benefits for Policing in both wellbeing, retention, sustainability and performance all having an overall impact on fighting crime and protecting the public which in turn will build trust and confidence both with the public and also internally with an organisation and its people.
She then went on to say:
I think it is really important that it is recognised as an innovative, evidence-based, revolutionary project that we are not expecting every TVP estate to change in the next few years, but understanding that there are small environmental changes that can be made for almost no cost, as well as larger environmental changes that all policing need to aspire to in the future.
Finally, she said:
I am really passionate about supporting our officers and staff to be the best they can be in the challenging and complex environments that we live in, and using Behavioural Science, Innovation and policing know-how, accompanied by other expertise such as Pete and his team at Sustainable Acoustics, we have shown that we can really make an evidence difference!
